Soulja Boy has returned to Twitch after being banned for more than a year.

On Thursday (April 20), the rapper took to Twitter to announce that his account on the popular gaming platform had been restored.

Soulja quoted another account in his first tweet announcing his return, which revealed he’d been banned for exactly one year, four months, and one week. “I’m back!” he wrote afterwards.

Despite not being permitted to stream for well over a year, Soulja Boy has nearly half a million Twitch followers. On the platform, he currently has around 817k followers. Soulja Boy’s fans clearly believed that despite the lack of an explanation for why he was banned, he would return one day.

Why was Soulja Boy Banned from Twitch ?

To this day, the reason for Soulja Boy’s ban is unknown. Some of his fans speculated that he was suspended because he was working on his own streaming platform.

Big Draco was banned from the social media platform for the first time in December 2021. He was displeased with the ban because he had no idea how he got one in the first place, and he immediately took to Twitter to express his displeasure. He also claimed that the platform was “racist” for prohibiting him from using it.

“I can’t believe Twitch can just ban you without providing any proof or explanation.” This isn’t feeling right. “I’m going to sue these people,” he said at the time. “If y’all don’t give me my account back, I’m taking you to court @Twitch @TwitchSupport.”

“I need the best lawyer money can buy dm me I got millions I wanna sue twitch I feel like they’re racist they ban me without explanation I won’t stand for this,” he continued.

Whatever the case was, it appears that it has now been resolved, or Twitch simply believes Soulja Boy has been banned long enough that he can now be welcomed back. Some may be surprised that Soulja Boy did not appear on Kick.

Soulja Boy has already resumed his Twitch streaming since his ban was lifted, and so far, so good. We may never find out what he was banned for, and he certainly wouldn’t be the only one if that were the case. Dr Disrespect was mysteriously banned from Twitch almost three years ago. The popular streamer is still banned, and it appears unlikely that he will ever be reinstated like Soulja Boy.
